    1. Checking the show’s age rating is teen maybe some Y/A haunted house horror? The Girls are Never Gone by Sarah Glenn Marsh is one of my favourites.

When you say ‘more like the Netflix show’ what particular qualities are you looking for ?

Last night I started reading The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, and you might like it! I’m on about page 40. So far, we have:
      – two POVs (20-year-old new bride moving to a clearly haunted house; local Catholic priest who dabbles in ^*~something~*^ [witchcraft; it’s on the cover copy])
      – a historical setting (1820s rural Mexico)
      – the aforementioned haunted house, which is a hacienda owned by the same family for several generations
      – a husband who’s about to leave his new bride alone in the house, a sister-in-law who seems strange and unwelcoming, a large number of servants who know each other well and seem to know something, and a bunch of other people who own haciendas in the area and have opinions about the new bride and the husband’s first wife.

Also, if you liked The Haunting of Hill House, try The Haunting of Bly Manor, directed by the same guy and starring several of the same actors! It’s so good.

Maybe The Good House by Tanarive Due , The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig, or Paul Tremblay’s A Head Full of Ghosts

The Good House by Tananarive Due is a supernatural horror with similar feelings of grief that’s explored in HH. Highly recommended.
