A bit of background: I just started reading this year and have truly enjoyed it. I grew up on video games so my attention span was very small but reading in spurts has helped.
I am a big fan of the Silent Hill video game franchise, especially SH2 and I am itching to read a book or books that check some of these boxes:
Psychological elements-protagonist struggling with reality and fantasy. Visions, mental illness, etc.
Thriller elements-unreliable narrator, plot twists, self discovery or grand realization.
Horror elements-dark creepy settings, a bit of supernatural.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions! I have read H.P. Lovecraft and some Thomas Logatti and I did enjoy them however I’m looking for something a little more grounded in reality (if that makes sense). Also, I’m not a fan of King due to the length of his books (again, short attention span haha)

It’s more on the psychological thriller than the horror side of things, plus to be honest I don’t think it really has much in common with the Silent Hill games, but Dermaphoria by Craig Clevenger is something I think you may enjoy.
If you’re looking for something with a dark, creepy setting where the protagonist struggles with distinguishing reality and fantasy, Dermaphoria scratches that itch really well.
(“I panicked and swallowed a handful of fireflies and black widows the inferno had not” is the opening line and gives a good sense of the vibe imo)
