As the title says – I’m wanting to read books where the protagonist(s) are in an icy or snow bound place. I just read The Terror, but am interested in all types of modern settings or historical settings if it is not more than a couple hundred years ago. Thanks!

**The Cruelest Miles: The Heroic Story of Dogs and Men in a Race Against an Epidemic.**
It’s the true story about the diphtheria outbreak in Nome, Alaska. Witness the incredible bond between man and dog as courageous sled teams, led by extraordinary dogs like Togo, brave bone-chilling temperatures and treacherous terrains to deliver life-saving serum, racing against time to save an entire town from the grip of a deadly epidemic.
The shining
The Great Alone, Kristin Hannah. Set in Alaska and they are NOT prepared for winter.
“The Hunting Party” by Lucy Foley. Friends get snowed in at a remote hunting lodge in Scotland. One of them is murdered and the police can’t come until the weather lifts.
Anything about Shackleton and the Endurance.
Sci-Fi but i highly recommend The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin. The cold vibe established at the beginning evolves throughout.
No Exit by Taylor Adams. A group of strangers are stuck in a remote highway rest stop in a blizzard and one of them has a secret.
One By One by Ruth Ware
The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse
The Drift by C.J. Tudor
Endurance by Alfred Lansing
I second Lansing’s *Endurance*
*Madhouse at the End of the Earth*
*Antarctica: A History in 100 Objects*
*Alone on the Ice*
*Icebound*
*Kingdom of Ice*
*The Man Who Ate His Boots*
