I’m trying to find an intriguing Book for my Daughter who really isn’t into reading.

She struggles to find a Book that has gripped her and I believe this has turned her off to reading.

When I asked her if she was into Reading, what type of Books she would enjoy, she replied, “Gossip.”

Hmm….are there any types of Books revolving around….gossip? Perhaps a Middle School setting?

I’m not sure where to run with this, haha.

TIA for any and all suggestions.

    1. Try Lisa Greenwald’s ‘Friendship List’ series, perhaps! The first one is ‘11 Before 12’. 🙂

    2. The sweet valley twins books were choke filled with tween gossip if I recall correctly from When I read them some 30 years ago lol

Babysitters club might work, though gossip seems to elude me in remembering them

I don’t think there was gossip in The Girl With the Silver Eyes, but she might like that one

Or if all else fails. Find her a tiger beat magazine lol

    3. I have a ton of middle grade recommendations, but here are some with junior high drama:

What Happened to Rachel Riley? by Claire Swinarski (this one is an amazing mystery about a new girl who is trying to sort out the gossip that caused a girl in her junior high to be ostracized)

      Maria Scrivan’s Nat graphic novels

Terri Libenson’s Emmie and Friends graphic novels

Make a Move, Sunny Park! by Jessica Kim

Pippa Park Raises Her Game by Erin Yun

The Not-So-Uniform Life of Holly Mei by Christina Matula

    4. SpookyGraveyard on

I loved *Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself* by Judy Blume and *Hating Alison Ashley* by Robin Klein at that age.

    5. BookHouseGirl398 on

She might enjoy Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russell and The Popularity Papers by Amy Ignatow.

    6. I really liked the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series and the Princess Diaries series at that age.
