I don’t mean this as a ‘gotcha’ but have you considered Frank Herbert’s other work? He was a pretty prolific writer.
The “Destination: Void” series has been called basically Dune with oceans instead of deserts. “The Dosadi Experiment” also has a lot of elements that the Bene Gesserit explore.

Hyperion is 10 out of 10 stars amazing but someone needs to mention Forever War which is honestly 11/10 and one of the best books in print.

I obsessed over The Expanse series, it starts with Leviathan Wakes by James SA Corey. The world building is wild and it’s so specific to how things function on a scientific level. And how things would be socially if humans expanded into the rest of the solar system. Earthers clashing with Martians clashing with Belters. It starts with the whole solar system on the brink of war. I think it’s like 5000 years ahead of us? 10/10 loved that series

Read anything in the Culture series by Iain M. Banks. *Consider Phlebas* is a good place to start.
Zelazny’s *Lord of Light* is a bit more of a fantasy/sci-fi blend.
*Book of the New Sun* by Gene Wolfe. A bit more fantasy than sci-fi, though still many elements of both. Not for everyone. A bit too moralizing/philosophizing for me, but kinda cool.

I haven’t read them, but I know two people who highly recommend the Night’s Dawn trilogy by Peter F Hamilton as the best sci-fi they have read.
But be warned they are loooong books.
