My wife and I were just laughing about the fact that virtually EVERY book we randomly pick up is a “New York Times Bestseller”. I’m beginning to think that those “honors” are distributed before books are published.

Ratings are subjective. There are books that everyone raves about that I’ve never been able to finish. I sometimes convince myself that most people are just jumping on a bandwagon. Conversely, there are books I thoroughly enjoyed from an entertainment perspective that get absolutely shit on.
