    1. I don’t think this is the exact title, but it was a great book not only for my toddler but (::she whispered:) it even worked on my husband, lol.

It’s called How to Talk So your children will listen and listen so they will talk by … Faber? I’m sure that if you type that in at amazon you will get it. The book is decades old, but it’s so good.

I got a lot out of Dr Becky’s book Good Inside. In addition to helping me reframe some stuff with my own kids, I definitely flagged some passages to talk about with my therapist re my own childhood

    3. I don’t have kids, but have so many kids in my family, and spent a bit of time listening to Dr. Wendy Mogul on her podcast (where you listen in on anonymized family therapy/parenting lessons). Found her from an interview on another podcast first. I believe her book is called The Blessing of a Skinned Knee but she may have others. Some really helpful perspective altering stuff imo!! I forgot a lot of my childhood so it helped me tap into what it’s like to be a kid and how to relate to kids better.

    4. The no cry sleep book, for the exact opposite reason. It was huge the couple of years before I had my first baby, and I swear every single needy, whiny, overly attached, abandonment tantrum, still sleeping with mom and dad, still breastfed toddler had parents who talked nonstop about this book. Fast forward a few years and these were the most maladjusted entitled troublemakers at school. We moved after my oldest finished 1st grade, so I don’t know what happened to those kids later in life, but I was damn glad I avoided that book. I never had to deal with my sons biting, or having repeated potty accidents, or throwing tantrums past the age of 2-3. I don’t even know much about what’s in the book, because I never read it, but the results of following the advice was pretty obvious in the kids around me, so I avoided it.
