    Hi everyone 🙂
My partner is leaving the country for 2 months (family related reasons), and I need something to read before sleep that will distract me from missing them. A book or book series that is immersive and gripping, something that is hard to put down, so I would look forward to reading it each night. Preferably without much romance, I don’t mind relationships being mentioned, but if there’s lots of sweet and cuddly stuff I know I will tear up 🥲
I enjoy reading all kinds of genres, except horror. A thicker book or big series would be great, as I am a quick reader.
    Thank you 🙂

    1. There is a romance involved but it’s not super sweet and cuddly, and there’s a lot of emotional distance between the characters, some hurdles that need to be overcome. They never get sappy and sweet in bed because that’s just not the characters’ style : The Mirror Visitor series, by Christelle Dabos. Idk what the English translation is like, because I read them in French as they came out, but I found the world-building super interesting ! Esp in the first two or three books. There’s an interesting universe, and a nice powers system.

    2. oh, you should totally check out The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss! it’s super immersive and has this amazing world-building. it’s a bit of a chunky book, so it’ll keep you occupied for a while. hope you enjoy it!

    3. Ascendance of a Bookworm. The protagonist is an adult woman but dies and wakes up in the body of a 5 year old in a medieval(ish) fantasy world. She won’t be old enough to even think about romance for the next 20 volumes. She was a librarian so has read thousands of books. While trying to get one in this world she uses the knowledge gained from reading to improve the lives of those around her. Thinks like soap and improved candle making as well as recipes to improve their diets.
