    Hi everyone!
I’m really getting into reading classic books and love reading international classics (outside of US and Canada) but the problem is when I look up for a list of international classics, I’ve either read them, they’re only like 20 years old, or even worse it’s not even from another country it’s just set there.

So what are some literary classics from your country? I’m open to literally any suggestions, just making a general book list!

Some Classics from Norway that should be available in English:

      Knut Hamsun – Sult (1890)
      – Victoria (1898)

Tarjei Vesaas – The Ice Palace (1968)
      – The Birds (1957)

Amalie Skram – Fru Inés (1891)
      – Lucie (1888)

Agnar Mykle – The Song Of The Red Rubin (1956)

Camilla Collett – The Districts Governor’s Daughter (1854)

Norwegian Folk Tales of Asbjørnsen and Moe (1841)

Henrik Ibsen – Peer Gynt (1867)

Sigrid Undset – Kristen Lavransdatter (Trilogy 1920-22)

Åsnes Seierstad – The Bookseller of Kabul (2002, nonfiction)

Jo Nesbø – The Redbreast (2000, 3rd book in a crime detective series, got on Time’s thriller list)

That’s a decent amount of the ones I could think of the top of my head. Let me know if you want anymore!
