I’m looking for books with short stories like Chekhov’s or Joyce’s (Dubliners). Stories about the pettiness of real lives in different places and cultures and moments in time.
Bonus points if they’re about friendships and nice things rather than abusive alcoholic uncles…

Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan stands as a series of short stories as well.
