I have recently picked up the ACOTAR books and I have not been able to put them down. I’m on the third book after 2 weeks of reading, and I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. The books are not of superior intelligence, although I think they’re great and very entertaining. I would compare it to eating candy (without the cavities). It’s very enjoyable.

Looking for some series/books that have enacted similar feelings???

TDIL that ACOTAR and A Court of Thorns and Roses are the same thing… Not my proudest moment.

    2. Def not the same and I dont love the way the smut is written but the played prisoner series is a good binge read! The first two books in the from blood and ash series are good!
And it doesn’t have spice but the shadow and bones series is excellent and then the six of crows duology is great too.

SJM’s Throne of Glass series is also very good. It’s one of my favorite series.

    4. I know a lot of people hate on ACOTAR because its kind of twilight-esque smut written bfor young adults (although good lord, I can’t imagine reading this in my teens) but I LOVED it. I’m with you, I freaking binged those shamelessly and I STILL have not found a satisfying replacement, those books have ruined me 😆. I have poured through several Reddit threads to no avail. I’ve just instead started Re-reading them in Spanish which feels kind of new.

The only books I found to even come close in the dirty fantasy genre were:

      – A Touch of Darkness (modern-ish hades/Persephone Greek mythology retelling) which is a whole series, but I didn’t enjoy the second book nearly as much as the first to keep up with it. Satisfying level or smut.
      – Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries – MUCH more tame on the smut perspective, but still kind of a satisfying romance build between the protagonist and the guy crush

Don’t bother with Throne of Glass. I read it and it was pretty “meh” with none of the dirtiness of ACOTAR.

The serpent and the wings of night by Carissa Broadbent. Easy read and similar to thorns books

    6. Ooh I love your description!

I agree with **fourth wing,** seems to be the natural progression from ACOTAR. I haven’t read it all the way but it fits the vibe

**The cruel Prince** series is good fun. over the top ridiculous premise, but delightful nonetheless.

**Between** by L.L Starling is a rom-com fantasy. the writing isn’t genius, but plays with a lot of tropes which is fun. It doesn’t take itself too seriously but it’s a long, gluttonous read.

      Happy reading!!
