Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for Portuguese novels (in Portuguese!) for my boyfriend. He’s not a big reader but has shown interest recently and I want to give him some ideas of where to start. I’m mainly looking for something that will really grab his attention and get him excited about reading.
I’m American and I’ve found some translations of English books, but I’m not super familiar with Portuguese literature so I thought maybe some of you could help! Translations are also fine, but I think he’d be really interested in reading some Portuguese books.
Here’s what I’m looking for based on his interests:
– Short and plot-driven (Portuguese is his first language so comprehension isn’t a problem, I just think he’ll give up on something that’s slower paced)
– Science fiction or fantasy would be good
– Preferably contemporary, but definitely *not* historical fiction
– Not looking for romance novels, but a sub-plot would be fine
