Betty is one of my favourite books ever. I related so much to most of the characters — especially Betty’s mother, and Betty’s sister Freya. The writing was beautiful too. The imagery that the author created brought tears to my eyes.
Demon Copperhead is also one of my favourite books, which was recommended to me by a friend when I said I loved Betty. Again, very relatable characters and gorgeous writing and imagery.
Do you have any recommendations for what to read next? I suppose I like dark, depressing coming-of-age books. Relating to characters is always important to me which is why I love main characters than can be morally grey, like Demon Copperhead.
