I’m pretty open to genres except I can never get into books where romance is the main plot. It can be a little cutesy or feel-good and include a romance, just it has to be about something other than the romance. It can be Christmas themed or just have an atmospheric winter setting.
Lately I’ve been into fantasy, sci-fi, and contemporary fiction. I’ve really enjoyed Frederik Bachman lately, so something in that style would be great! Some other books I’ve liked lately are True Biz, Me Before You, Remarkably Bright Creatures, Never Let Me Go, Wanderers, A Darker Shade of Magic, and all of Andy Weir’s books.

How about winter ghost stories?
{{Dark Matter by Michelle Paver}}
{{Thin Air by Michelle Paver}}
{{The Haunting Season by Bridget Collins}}
It’s a short short short book, but it’s a perfect Christmas fairytale: _The Tailor of Gloucester_ by Beatrix Potter
Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. It’s discworld but can be read as a stand alone. It’s basically Christmas just called something else.
