Hi everyone, I’ve been on a mission to find books that are like The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas. It’s a little bit Matrix-like, with gritty elements, linguistic philosophy, and a theological discussions. I also really like 11/22/63 (the show, I actually haven’t read the book), and The Time Traveler’s Wife. I think the movie City of Angels (with Meg Ryan) also fits into this category. All of these books/movies/shows are a little philosophical (more towards metaphysics, they ask questions about reality) with light scifi or religious themes, but have a substantial romance at the core.
