It’s my friend’s birthday and I’d love to gift him a book.
He’s recently texted me about a book by Tim Burton, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy. It had adorable illustrations and the aesthetic totally fits him. Whimsical, cute, dark and humorous. He already owns Tim Burton books so that’s unfortunately off the table.
A bit more about him: He’s british, he loves to bake in his free time, his music style is very early 2000s, kind of emo. He’s a 90s kid. I wouldn’t necessarily call him a huge book worm, so something short in a pretty hard cover would be very cool! Thank you all, I’m really looking forward to your suggestions

Anything Neil Gaiman, maybe beautifully illustrated?
I think Nick Cave also wrote stories, that might be something for him too?
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (Illustrated by Chris Riddell)
