    1. I’ve read a lot of cyberpunk, but unfortunately not a lot of *new* cyberpunk. I keep a list of [all the cyberpunk books I read in order to keep track of them](https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/81376046-kiki?ref=nav_mybooks&shelf=cyberpunk). Out of those, I’d say these are the most grounded:

      * [Infomocracy](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/26114433-infomocracy) by Malka Older. Not the most detailed worldbuilding, but I was very impressed by the depiction of politics, propaganda, and conspiratorial thinking. This book stressed me out with how close to real world political conflicts it is, but I imagine it’s still going to age well.

      * [We Are Satellites](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53431508-we-are-satellites) by Sarah Pinsker. *Technically* may not count as cyberpunk. There are some punk elements, but they don’t come in until later in the story when the kids grow up.
