I just read All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy and loved the writing. Im looking for books where i can get totally lost in the scene. Even if theres no obvious plot! I love j.d. salinger, donna tartt, and i have not read any other McCarthy books so if anyone has suggestions of his i would be grateful!!

Greenwood by Michael Christie and Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
I think you’d really like East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. I didn’t finish the book, the subject got to me and I quit, but I did think the writing was beautiful. I’ve not checked out any of his other books, but I might.

Vagabonds! by Eloghosa Osunde was really really lyrical and beautiful with a strong voice
