I didn’t know how to word the title, because it doesn’t have the be the type of romance you’d pick up off a grocery store bookshelf.

I recently finished Fourth Wing and it honestly has me craving a read with some good romance in it. I love the enemy to lover trope because I am occasionally a basic bitch who drowns real life struggles with fictional romance, and while fourth wing had that, it wasn’t particularly well written. Does anyone have some suggestions for books along those lines that are written nicely, or have a super solid storyline? I’m also an adult adult, not a young adult, but I will read YA stuff if it’s good!
    Bonus points if it’s fantasy!

I will also accept just generally good romance suggestions. I read The Song of Achilles somewhat recently and, while I wanted to vomit cry at some points, I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

    That is all thank you

    1. Gods of Jade and Shadow by Sylvia Moreno- Garcia could fit

The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo was different and fun too

The School for Good and Evil. I read the first three books in the series, and wow, it is good! It has some good romance parts with fantasy (like you mentioned), and it’s long enough sometimes to make you forget about the time! 10/10 for me (Author: Soman Chainani)

    3. alright, my best enemies to lovers recommendations are:

heated rivalry by rachel reid – hockey rivals to lovers, pretty smutty

in other lands by sarah rees brennan – witty and whimsical fantasy, the slowest burn

peter darling by austin chant – cozy fantasy, peter pan x captain hook

    4. The obvious answer is *Pride and Prejudice*, which practically invented the genre. I guess you could throw *Romeo & Juliet* to that in a sense as well though it’s more of a star-crossed lovers situation. *Wuthering Heights* as well (but it’s more complicated than that). *North & South* is another perfect example (like pride and prejudice with factories)

All of these are classics for a reason. The stories and characters are rich and complex with a lot of well woven social commentary which stands the rest of time

Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pacat is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance! (It’s also MUCH more plot-heavy than the summary of the first book makes it sound)
