An historically accurate book from any time period (I figure ancient history might have more options) where it’s told as a point of view from an ordinary person. But all the events and things that happen are fairly accurate. For example, in Ancient Rome maybe during Caesar’s reign a story told from the perspective of an everyday worker, but all the events and how Caesar came to power are told through the everyday workers eyes.

I find it easier to read history books like this when they’re told in this story form, and want to add a lot of these kinds of books to my TBR for next year. As I find general history books too exhausting and complicated to read naturally – story versions are easier,
    Thanks

Earth’s Children series is ridiculously accurate in terms of the day to day life stuff like hunting, gathering and preserving food, making clothes and shelters and weapons, art, and herbal medicine.
