I have read my fair share of Percy Jackson books as a kid, but nowadays i’m still curious about what other stories could be told with myths and legends of greek mythology. Alternate takes on certain characters are welcome.
Roberta Gellis has a fantasy-romance series called “Greek Myths” that treats the Hellenic world like a fantasy-novel playground. David and Stella Gemmell have the “Troy” series, which is more heroic, low-magic fantasy about heroes sailing around to fight eachother.
I’ve also got a list of just re-interpretations of greek mythology, if you’re interested in that. But those are the two that feel most ‘Percy Jackson-y’, to me.

A Touch of Darkness is a modern retelling of the Hades and Persephone story. There is a bit of spice, just so you know.

*Circe* and *Song of Achilles* by Madeline Miller are wonderful. She also has a short story called *Galatea*. She is working on a book about Persephone that I am eagerly awaiting.
*The Silence of the Girls* by Pat Barker
Clemence MacLaren has written a bunch of Greek mythology-inspired books – I’ve always loved *Inside the Walls of Troy*, which is a retelling of the Trojan War from the perspectives of Helen and Cassandra
*Ithaca* by Claire North is all about Penelope (wife of Odysseus)
*Singer to the Sea God* by Vivien Alcock is about a young man trying to save a young woman who has been turned to stone by the head of Medusa. This one is YA
