What’s up!
Looking to get my gf a book or 2 for Christmas. She’s been trying to reconnect with her Slavic/Ukrainian roots, specifically paganism and/or pre Christianity.
Is there any slavic folklore or paganism history books?
Also books on Baba Yaga books yall can recommended??
Thanks!

If she hasn’t read it already, [Uprooted](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/26117888) by Naomi Novik may be up her alley. I haven’t read [Spinning Silver](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36896898) by the same author but she may also enjoy that.
I tried to link a thread from the fantasy sub but apparently we aren’t allowed to link from other subs. Try looking there for previous threads.
The Bear and the Nigthingale by Katherine Arden!
The Witch and the Tsar by Olesya Salnikova Gilmore (about Baba Yaga)
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden is absolutely fantastic! The introduction of Christianity to Rus is a huge theme of the story: the growing influence of Christianity is harming the folklore creatures and powers.
The main character is a witch who interacts with many folklore creatures throughout the books, including Baba Yaga.
The three books are *The Bear and the Nightingale, The Girl in the Tower,* and *The Winter of the Witch*
