As the title suggests, I am looking for a book similar to the alchemist. The alchemist put me in a state of deep thought for a while. I miss that feeling, I prefer a book that is sad. So if anyone can suggest a sad philosophical book I would very much appreciate it. Currently I am reading white nights by Dostoyevsky but I will be finished in about a day or 2.

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
Trail of Socrates.
Its been a long while since I read it. I only vagiely remember it but I’m planning to re-read it here shortly. I was expecting more of a history book, but it got into all sorts of philosophy and other topics, and I remember being very surprised at how much I enjoyed that book
No but I looked it up and I’m adding it to my list. I finish white nights today, I’ll be reading the book suggested above and then the one you just suggested. Thank you!
