Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

Edit: The plot was slow, soooo slow. The main character was not engaging, too predictable, and unbearably annoying with the way she handled every situation in the other “world”.
The romance was nearly nonexistant, just a jerk that isn’t even giving a hint into being into her yet she still tries.

And her best friend is funny, but their conversations are more “mother daughter scolding” than best friend. I just can’t finish the series, such a shame!

What book is a zero star read for you?

Go Ask Alice and The Tattooist of Auschwitz

And that’s just based on the quality of writing. They way they handle their subject matter would put them in the negative.

      Hated _The Sun Also Rises_.

      It’s a zero for me.

It seems Auden was wrong when he said, “Some books are undeservedly forgotten; none are undeservedly remembered.”

    3. Legends of Dune – The Machine Crusade. There’s a particular scene that just ruined it totally for me. I put the book down and never finished because it was so out of place.

    4. Gravity’s Rainbow. Finally at 500 pages in I threw it out in a garbage walking down the street. It was liberating.

    5. Seven Eves. I know I am in the minority here but the book is an absolute mess. It reads like some college students clobbered some random words together that sounded cool. Was massive Stephenson fan before but this and whatever that WoW book was killed him for me

    6. I was forced to read *Madame Bovary* for a Western Civics class. If I could transport myself into that book, I’d give Emma the arsenic myself on page one. Then I would hunt down that whiny little shit Holden Caulfield from *Catcher in the Rye* and give him a double dose.

    7. 50 Shades of Gray

      I didn’t even get 50 pages in.

One of Us is Dead by Jeneva Rose is my runner up.

I read some crap by NK Jemison I absolutely hated. I don’t even remember the name of it. I’d give it negative stars.
