Title, don’t come for me. Sorry if I sound bitter, it’s because I am. I really wanted to like this book.
I tried giving Fourth Wing a go and it simply wasn’t for me. The juvenile writing and f-bombs in what was supposed to be a fantasy setting is just not it. The characters are supposed to be young adults but they felt like 12 year olds.
The thing is, I liked the premise. I just didn’t like the execution and felt the poorly written characters ruined it.
Can you recommend something that is young adult or adult, that involves dragon riders, and maybe has an academy setting, but is written a little bit more intelligently?

The Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. No dragons but checks the other boxes.
Also, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
