I’m in therapy right now, and every session I come away with a more clear understand that everyone around me failed their job as a caregiver…

Are there books for this? Or maybe grieving a lost childhood?

I tried googling it but all I’m getting is books to deal with me feeling like a failure. Not the other way around.

    Thanks y’all!

Try This is How by Augusten Burroughs. He says something like “parents are nice but not necessary”

Speculating a little here: The phrase “adverse childhood experiences” might help narrow down your searches, though I am not sure what has been published to support adults.

The memoir The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls comes to mind, maybe look into this or similar memoirs.

I am wishing you well on your healing and grieving journey 🩷
