Looking for a new book series, not all of these are required but this is what i’d prefer

Type: series, preferably one that’s already complete or at least has a decent amount already published

Genre: fantasy (any type of fantasy or even fantasy-ish sci-fi)

    Genre blacklist: please no horror

age range: i’m 19 so ya, na, or adult are all fine. I’m fine with vulgar language and explicit scenes

POV: tend to prefer third-person and multiple pov but i’m open to any

Characters: would prefer there to be at least one male mc close to my age

Romance: yes please. I typically like slow burn that’s not central to the part. Preferably between two main characters. In the scythe series the dynamic between rowan and citra would have been perfect if they actually had more time on screen (idk what the correct term is) together

    things i dislike:

when a story happens in the past and is being told or reflected on like in name of the wind.

when an author is afraid to kill people or be violent

similarly, when an author is afraid to make two people kiss or have sex

    love at first sight

    rape

enemies to lovers (tsundre is cringe but only entirely opposed)

happily ever after (when it’s forced)

big bad becomes good at the end

    tropes i like:

    guilty pleasure but chosen one

    the quest

    animal/creature companion

    awesome old guy (or lady)

    taverns/inns

getting a lot of money and buying things

    some books i like:

    cradle series (favorite all time)

    mistborn

    red rising

    harry potter/percy jackson

    1. {{The Wheel of Time}} series by Robert Jordan. This checks most of the boxes on your list. Plus the series was finished by Brandon Sanderson who wrote Mistborn.

    2. {{Alvin Maker}} series by Orson Scott Card. Historical fantasy. It isn’t completed, but it is still good.

    3. MarvelousPoolGuy on

{{The Dresden Files}} by Jim Butcher. I’ve been listening to the audiobooks and it’s my favorite series ever.
