I’ve never been into romance novels for pretty silly reasons. But then I read the Outlander series and discovered I actually enjoy a story that doesnt gloss over intimacy.
I picked up A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah Maas but struggled to get through it, mostly because the main character is 19. I kept aging her up in my brain beasue to me (33f) a 19 yr old is still a child, and why would a several hundred year old being be into that? Also because there’s literally two romantic scenes in the whole book and they’re not very exciting IMO.
So I’m looking for recommendations for romance books that have legitimately adult-aged characters (not under idk like 25?) And more spicy bits. Beyond that I have no idea what I do or don’t like when it comes to this genre, so maybe include a quick blurb about the premise please? In the past I’ve enjoyed books in the fantasy, general fiction and horror genres.
