I have really bad habit of caring about another person’s opinion like if I do that what will they think of me blah blah…

Due to this I cant even take my first step towards something, I am very shy, have bad communication skills and low confidence . Whenever I try to do something to improve myself, first I get discouraged by thinking what others will think of me and then drops it entirely coz of fear of failing.

I know, reading a book alone cant change anything, it must be followed by actions learnt from that book. Still, I must start from somewhere so I will really appreciate it if you guys can help me suggest a book.

    Thanks in advance.

Your problem is not solved by a book, it is solved when you realize that no one thinks about what you think, so you should not think about them. You are missing out on life worrying about others and not yourself.

I unfortunately do not have a book suggestion. But i totally understand your circumstance, so i will throw out my 2cents. Age, mental development, and environment can affect your communication skills and understanding your self worth.

If you are under 20 years old you are most likely in an environment (school/college/sports club/etc.) that lets you easily compare yourself with your peers, and observe all the differences all of your own shortcomings compared to everyone else. This can make it feel like you are doing something wrong, why does everyone else my age “get it” but i dont?

At ages 20~30 you will begin to join the work force, this is when you truly start seeing a more variety in age groups, different financial backgrounds, and a different attitude towards the world. You then start to realize no one else cares, and everyone is just living their life just like youre trying to do.

30+ you realize “man kids are stupid” “i was a stupid kid too no exception” and i dont care what the law says under age 25 youre still a child going tutorial phase of life.

40+ fuck i should taken better care of my body, its only downhill from here.

Lastly, if you havent yet, maybe seek out a mental health specialist just in case its not some obvious thing everyone just missed.
