Their reading level is a bit lower than other 14 year olds, and all of the books I read are a bit over their head. Both normal books and graphic novels are welcome. Romance and dark ish themes are ok, so long as neither are exceedingly graphic. Here are a list of their interests

We’ve already checked off the monoliths that are percy jackson and harry potter, and they liked both of those. They’re also somewhat invested in the six of crows and maze runner, but that’s solely from the movies / shows and not reading.
They also already tried his dark materials and inkheart, but found them too difficult and a bit boring respectively. I think we want to keep our distance from super long/hefty books for now, so quicker reads would be great!
