Can anyone suggest a book that is either cozy like stardew valley meets witches, or just general fantasy with witches? Please only books that take place in a fantasy world. Ideally with romance and with a female protagonist. Thanks!

    1. Not witches exactly, but The Power by Naomi Alderman is about women with powers, female protagonists and its just a really good book.

    2. *The Once and Future Witches* by Alix E. Harrow is a slow burn book. Took me about 100 pages to really get the flow but once I got in I really enjoyed it. Very much a feminist tale that features three sisters who have a connection to mysterious power. Some cool moments and every major character is female except two.

*The Midnight Bargain* is basically Bridgerton with wizards. Very feminist forward and while very flowery with language and theme, it’s pretty enjoyable and has a good magic system. Highly romantic.

*Witchmark* by CL Polk is the start of a very sweet series that is magical realism and a very cozy read. Feels a little like a Harry Potter vibe but for adults. It’s also the start of a series so if you like it you can keep diving in.

*The Year Of The Witching* is an excellent and very spooky tale set in an Americana-style old world community where they people living there fear there are witches in the woods.

*Follow Me to Ground* by Sue Rainsford is a creepy but poetic novella. A bit disturbing, but in a medical sense. I loved this little book and couldn’t put it down.

*The Near Witch* by Victoria (VE) Schwab – If you know VE Schwab then you know already that this is an excellently written book. It’s refreshing to have a folk horror entry that doesn’t follow the obvious tropes, and still feel romantic and sweet. Great Halloween read and the vivid atmosphere of the book will captivate those who long for cozy witchy reading.

*The River Had Teeth* is a witchy book set in a nature preserve in the south. Several local women have disappeared and the local witch family is trying to figure out whodunnit, while hoping it’s not their matriarch who transforms at night into a scary creature. The sister of one of the victims comes sniffing around looking for answers.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandana is as cozy a witchy book as you could want
