The Emperor’s Soul by Brandon Sanderson. Technically I think it’s a novella, easy to read, interesting premise. Very nice little book! Doesn’t make you think too much, so perfect for giving your brain a rest from your studies.

You could try The Narrow Road Between Desires, it just dropped. It’s by Pat Rothfuss, and it’s a revamped version of The Lightning Tree which he published in 2017.
