The Seventh Bride by T. Kingfisher is a YA Fantasy retelling of Bluebeard that I really enjoyed. I love T. Kingfisher’s writing. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh is another popular retelling, but I haven’t read it myself. ☺️

*The Blood Chamber* by Angela Carter is, forgive my theatrics but, a masterpiece. The entire book is short story retellings of fairytales, the first of which is one of my very favorite short stories of all time, and is also, it so happens, a retelling of the Bluebeard tale. There are also two takes on Beauty and the Beast. You can read the Bluebeard story here to see if Carter is to your taste:
