I’m looking for something that’s really well thought-out but doesn’t contain romance at all and 18+ elements (I mean in the sense without intercourse, drugs or anything too gory like r\*\*\* ), like alcohol, and I don’t want anything with superstitious elements, like horoscopes, magicians, fortune tellers, spells, or wishing wells and mythical gods, reincarnations and whatnot.
I’m gearing more toward adventure, with sailors and the like, or like a heartwarming family like the kind we’d have read as kids that gave us a vivid imagination, was suspenseful, and gave us morals to take away from it.

C S Forrester and Patrick OBrian wrote series of books about the British Royal navy focused on officers and their ships and adventures.
You might like Cheaper by the Dozen. I don’t know about morals but try All Creatures Great and Small and sequels and Gerald Durell’s Corfu Trilogy,
It’s Ya but the brother band chronicles its Ya. It’s written the guy who wrote Rangers Apprentices
A man called Ove or other books by Frederick Backman might fit the bill? Not adventure, but definitely heartwarming.
And it’s old, but if you haven’t read it the Princess Bride would be great!
