I just love Halloween stories and movies and everything. As a kid I read most goosebump books, as an adult most Stephen King stuff. I also love Tim Burton movies like Corpse Bride And nightmare becirce Christmas.
Can be scary, doesn’t necessarily have to be. Witches, monsters, haunted houses, scary villages, everything is welcome this time of the year.

[A Night in the Lonesome October](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62005.A_Night_in_the_Lonesome_October) is really fun!
If you are into classics I just finished A Picture of Dorian Gray which was much spookier than anticipated!
The Elementals by Michael McDowell
John Dies at the End by David Wong
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Dark Matter by Michelle Paver
Books of Blood by Clive Barker
Cold Skin by Albert Sanchez Pinol
NOs4aA2 by Joel Hill
Fool Moon by Jim Butcher.
It’s the second book in a long series (you don’t have to read the first one- it was only okay IMO). But Fool Moon is great for Halloween season. Takes place in October and filled to the brim with bloodthirsty werewolf drama.
even if you already read it, Coraline or the graveyard book by Neil Gaiman
Scifi dark fantasy?
A Nightmare’s Point of View.
The October Country by Ray Bradbury is not explicitly Halloween, but it’a dripping Halloween atmosphere and vibes.
The Haunting of Hill House
[The Book of Halloween by Ruth Kelly](https://lintreader.com/book/kelley-the-book-of-halloween-ky5ZdqQp). Has a fun overview of customs around Halloween and monsters. Not really scary but very interesting to peruse
Under the Bluffs by Nicholas Grady. It’s about unsolved kidnapping cases involving abandoned caves!
