For more context, I’m an aspiring filmmaker who wants to make films on the quandaries of human mind and the decisions they take in everyday life and how it affects them and their minds in turn. Not a lot of films are made about this.
I need to find a book that explores themes like what shapes someone’s personality, why some people are stubborn by nature, the influence of absent fathers in a woman’s life and such stuff. Presentation of real world examples might help me formulating a plot as well.
I also have another objective (and you can suggest me a totally different book/books for this) and that is to be a better listener while people vent about their problems. Maybe something that explores the art of being a good therapist.
I liked Freakonomics a lot, and something along the lines of that just oriented to psychology will be a good read.
