Hello friends!
I’ve been on a years long desperate hunt for wordsmiths. I just started Herzog by Saul Bellow and it shows great promise. I’m not looking for flowery, descriptive, beautiful language, rather ’m looking for clever use of words. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Some examples:
– … with curves dreamed up by god on a drunken bender
– with all the tact of a Nazi stormtrooper
– “The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don’t.” (Obviously)
– “Consistency has never been a barrier for him”- jennifer Rubin on Mitch McConnell
-a tepid relationship with accuracy
-truth resists simplicity – john green
Any help would be greatlyyyy appreciated
I’d prefer books but I’ll take article writers as well ¨̮
