Suggest me a book on the stories of Intelligence agencies, CIA or any other, that talks about some of the secretive operations they ran or things they did that could really change how one looks at them.
As the title says it could be from any intelligence agency but I mention CIA because that is the most well known but it has to be really good.
The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War by Stephen Kinzer.
Allen Dulles was the first civilian director of the CIA. His older brother was Secretary of State at the same time. The amount of control of policy they had is breath-taking, including helping overthrow multiple governments/assassinate leaders (Iran), inculcating the Cold War, and getting us embroiled in Vietnam. I knew about US involvement and interference in Iran, Guatemala, Vietnam, etc., but this book goes into detail about just how far-reaching the two men’s impact was, how their upbringing shaped them, and how their opinions and approach are still echoing around the world.
