I will soon have my own kitchen, it comes with a stove and oven, and fridge. I plan to buy a toaster and microwave but I’m going to look into way to forego the microwave to see if I can eliminate it, counter space is very limited.

I have collected kitchen supplies such as measuring spoons, cups and glass, cooking utensils silicone and bamboo, nonstick pan set, stainless steel stock pot, oven mitts, cutlery, knife set, scissors, ice cream scoop, can opener, peeler, grater, etc.

I have been building a pantry to stock up my cupboards so I can minimize my expenses as much as possible in the next few months.
I am looking for a book that will help me utilize my kitchen tools, learn how to love food, cooking and myself in the kitchen. I would benefit from learning cooking conversions, terminology, prep tips, recipes and any other pointers that would help me get comfortable holding a knife and making a meal for a guest.

I welcome any and all recommendations cooking or baking related.

    1. This is vegetarian so it may not interest you, but lately Ive been trying recipes from *Plant-Based on a Budget: Quick & Easy* and so far the title is accurate. It’s definitely not Michelin-star stuff, but you can throw something together with minimal cooking skills with it

I started with the 75th anniversary edition of The Joy of Cooking. Years later, it’s still the cookbook I use most often

    3. When I first moved out, I bought a cookbook caked Help! My Apartment Has A Kitchen and I still pull it out 20+ years later. It’s mostly for 1-2 servings and has ratings from easy-hard. Author explains everything really well, has sides/mains/sandwiches/etc…I give it to everyone who moves out of their parents’ home
