I feel like I have a pretty good handle on traditional classics — lots of lists, and they make up high school and college English curricula everywhere.
What would you say are the best modern classics, published within the past 10-15 years?
I get that it’s too soon to see if they’ll pass the test of time…but, generally, the standard I’m looking for is books “important” enough that they are functionally must reads. (I’ll leave “important” up to you – could be important to the literary world, cultural consciousness, how it covers a particular event or issue, etc etc)
