I’m looking for books like hunger games. I know, i know, there is already a thread for this. The difference is, i see that the recommendations were about the whole “games of survival” type of thing. I’m not really looking for that. What i love about THG is the exaggerated version of societies injustice, and the whole hopelessness that leads to a revolution. I love how DARK it could get. It could get so horribly sad and tragic and twisted. That shit made me feel things.

Basically, i’m looking for something like, a starving traumatized nobody in a dystopian horrible society is sick and tired of the torture and the inequality of the situation and starts a rebelion. Im looking for something sad and traumatic but hopeful and emotional.

I hope this isn’t too specific lol. Let me know if you think of something. Thank you!

    1. The giver is all I can think of when I’m half asleep after driving 15 hours. It’s a utopian society which some would argue is a dystopian society. It’s not nearly as revolutionary as the hunger games but it will definitely make you feel and think until. I still think about it 12 years later!

At least until someone more awake can give you better answers. Plus it’s like 125 pages so you can probably finish it in an hour

Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown fits. A guy from the bottom rung of society gets recruited by rebels to infiltrate the top and ends up committing some pretty dark and brutal acts to achieve his goals.

    3. 1984, Brave New World, The Giver, We, Dune, Fahrenheit 451, Matched, Wool, Animal Farm, The Children of Men, Oryx and Crake…

Seems like you’re looking for dystopian books, specifically with rebellion/uprising.
