Hello. When I was in elementary school in the early 2000s, I recall taking a book out of the school library. It was an anthology of short scary stories for kids, but I can’t remember what it was called or who wrote it.
I can recall some details from two of the stories, but not enough to find any information on Google.
One of the stories was about a moon lady who would either eat children or take them back to the moon with her forever. If I recall, the boy in the story had grown up hearing of her as folklore, but wound up taken by her.
Another story featured a child at a carnival who talked with an automaton fortune teller in a coin operated box… actually, it must’ve promised to grant a wish instead of tell fortunes, because the child I believe wished to be able to ride this ride there. The ride never stopped, and the child was stuck there forever.
That’s all I remember, but I would really love to know what it was! If anyone has any idea, I would love to hear it.
