I’ve been an avid reader for many years but fell into a serious slump because of stress – to the point that the only thing I was reading for a while were textbooks, law cases and research papers – the true definition of a reader’s hobby gone to die!
Anyway, I’ve recently been trying to get back into reading, and just finished The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton after falling in love with his best seller: The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle — which I totally recommend for anyone who loves a fantastic murder mystery with mind bending and simply genius storytelling! 🤩
I used to enjoy crime and policing books, but I just can’t find myself in them anymore and couldn’t really get into the DI Nixon series by Damien Boyd.
TLDR; I would love some post-apocalypse or survival books if anyone has any recommendations for me!
I’ve already read The Road by Cormac McCarthy some years ago and would love to find similar books. They don’t have to necessarily be Zombie themed, but I prefer to avoid Dystopian genres like The Hunger Games, Divergent and Maze Runner which are more geared to young adults in my opinion and push into the realm of fantasy.
Whatever the case, if there’s a ‘end of the world’ book that you loved, I would appreciate the recommendation!
