Suggestions do not have to be recently released, (the last year or two) I’m just less likely to have already read or listened to those!
Atmosphere, prose, and character development through “show don’t tell”
help me escape more than unnecessary details either gruesome or mundane, (eg. Dean Koontz, Karin Slaughter).
I have better luck with female writers in quantity but equal luck in quality.
These two writers for prose and reliability and these examples for atmosphere:
“Girls in the Garden” by Lisa Jewell
“The likeness” by Tana French
I avoid Freida McFadden, Stephen King, Riley Sagar, John Grisham(etc)
A plethora to choose from due to popularity, like Rachel Hawkins, Lisa Foley. I just feel like I’ve read them all
Anything about what you liked about it is particularly appreciated!
