Hello fellow book lovers!
In the last year or so I’ve gotten into philosophy and ethics and have been doing a heavy bit of reading in the classics. My husband and I recently stopped *not* trying to conceive and it’s got me thinking… I’m wondering if there are any “modern” parenting books out there akin to virtue-ethic primers and the like.
Looking for things that have the philosophical spirit and offer theories on raising a child to be a conscientious human within a complicated society. Please note: I am not looking for a “how-to” or a “parenting 101” type book. Really I am looking for books that wrestle with the complications of raising completely unique individuals within our modern structures of society. I am also looking for more “layperson friendly” titles.
I recently purchased a book called *The Soul of Civility* by Alexandra Hudson that is a modern shaping of these virtue-ethics. Haven’t read it yet but anything in this vein would be interesting!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions 🙂
