I enjoy reading sci-fi quite a lot and I’ve been hooked up to this damned tv show that is trippingly fascinating. This tv show is not entirely dissimilar to VanderMeer’s Annihilation book, which I have read, but I was wondering whether anyone had similar suggestions!

Not sure if it counts because it’s a graphic novel but *Habitat* by Roy Simon is the first thing that comes to mind.
Close but not quite would be *A Fire Upon the Deep* or *A Deepness in the Sky* both by Vernor Vinge. Mainly because they both capture that same feeling of being immersed in a highly sophisticated, alien world. Both also have sub-plots centered around being stranded on an alien planet.
