I adore Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, and I’m looking for fantasy books or series with a similar vibe. I love the heist elements, the expansive worldbuilding, the gritty, dark, urban setting, the mix of magic and technology, and the found family trope. I don’t like stories that have the typical non-human creatures like elves, orcs, trolls, vampires, werewolves, etc. Either YA or adult is fine, but no middle grade please! Currently on my tbr are The Lies of Locke Lamora and Jade City. Thanks in advance!

The Remnant Chronicles
Duel of Fire
The Last Magician
An Unkindness of Magicians
Alanna: The First Adventure
Warbreaker
[Retribution Falls](https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/6285903) includes urban settings, grittiness, found family, magic, and technology. It’s first in a series.
The Cinder Spires series fits perfectly!
The Goblin Emperor and The Cemeteries of Amalo series. It does have elves and goblins (and no humans at all) but it’s not a stereotypical fantasy setting.
For world-building, chosen family, and heists, I love the System of the World trilogy by Neal Stephenson.
