A while back, there was some talk about people deciding to only read completed book series after being burned by high profile former authors like GRRM and Patrick Rothfuss. This series came up as an example of how most good authors aren’t like that.
The author had been regularly putting out new books. I remember someone talking about how they would recommend this series to people, and the first question they would get is “Is it finished?” They would say “There’s one book to go!” And they would get “Hmm, not going to chance it then.” Even though the author had a good track record, and the first three books of the series formed a complete story of their own.
So, it was a fantasy series, the first three books formed a complete story, and it was maybe seven in total then? And I remember there being one book yet to come out which would wrap things up.
I know this is a long shot, but can anyone help? I thought I put this on my list, but I can’t find anything that matches it.
