When I was in middle school I used to binge read a book AT LEAST 3x a week. I was obsessed with reading. But as I got older and got more responsibilities, that stopped. I honestly couldn’t even remember the last time I did that.
Fast forward to 2023, I have 2 kids and a whole house to take care of. I rarely get time to read (but I try!) and it takes me 1-2 weeks to finish a book because I don’t have much time. However this past week I got the book Silent Woman by Minka Kent and couldn’t put it down. I happened to wake up early so decided to start it, and got hooked. I picked that book up every chance I get, and finished it before I went to bed. It felt so good and child like to do that again.
When was the last time you binged a book in a day? And do you remember what book it was?

I’ve never binge read a book. I can’t even conceive the idea of reading a 140pages book in a day.
“Zami: A New Spelling of My Name” by Audre Lorde. It’s a memoir of her life up until about thirty and it is about her coming to grips with being a lesbian in New York City. I didn’t even intend to; I was reading and reading and the next thing I know the 6am plows are driving around and I’m about fifty pages from the end.
