It’s a bit of a weird niche, but I’m looking for more SF in the vein of “Roadside Picnic”, William Gibson’s “Hinterlands” or (at least the film adaptation, never finished the novel) “Annihilation”. I’m fascinated by the idea of an alien organism or species so far beyond human understanding that they’re more like a force of nature and the protagonists deal with the evidence or implications of their existence instead of ET’s themselves. I’m sure there must be more similar stuff out there but it’s such a specific interest that I don’t even know where to begin looking.
